| While Seven of Mojica Judo players traveled to Miami to attend the Middle School / High School Nationals, Kevin Duarte and Tony Mojica were on a plane bound for Tokyo Japan. Fourteen year old Kevin qualified for the team because of his status as the #1 male in the United States. Tony Mojica was chosen to be the USA team coach. Over 230 teams attended this year's event, and the USA team already one man short had a rough tournament. Competition took place at the Kodokan. In the first day of competition Kevin won all his matches by instant win, but it was not enough to carry the team into the second day's competition. On the second day after the Winner was determined, everyone is invited to the Goodwill Tournament (teams or individuals challenge one another). Kevin was challenged four times, and this time he won 3 matches with an instant win, and lost one. |
