The Mojica Judo Club took 26 players to the forty-second Annual 2005 USJF Junior National Judo Championships, which were  held this year in Irvine California. This year's event brought over 1000 players from throughout the United States.

Mojica Judo came home with One Gold, Five Silver, and Three Bronze Medals.
The Mojica Judo team contained 20 players that were the rank of green belt and under (considered novice players) and for 17 of  those players this would be their first national.  "Our team was prepared for the stiff competition, and we're very proud of the entire team." said Sensei Mojica.  He added "This tournament was a warm up for next years Nationals & Jr US Open which the team will attend in Florida."

There were many highlights this weekend. Those Players who had attended nationals last year in came home with medals, but our star of the weekend was Roger Arce. Roger had three ippons and went home with Gold.
Adam Caballero was in a 31 man division. Despite smashing three fingers two days before competition, he managed to win his first match. For Brazel Marquez, the nationals were her first judo competition. She won three of her five matches, and just missed placing. Kile Young was out of judo for six months due to an injury. Despite the time off, he came home with fourth place.
