| Vitaly Vanyan was the Mojica representative at Canada's premier international Judo Championships - RENDEZ VOUS Vitaly competed on Sunday, September 19, 2004, in the 60 kilo division amoung 19 other players that consisted of 12 Canadians, 5 Americans, 2 Mexicans,and 1 Korean. His First victory by Ippon was against Mario Desbiens-Canada. His second victory by Ippon was against Canadian Alexandre Bernier. On the third round, Vitaly faced a tougher Canadian, Gonzalo Ibanez, but was victorious by Yuko. His Ippon to Oliver Masse-Canada was his fourth victory that sent him to the Gold Medal Match. Vitaly's Gold Medal match with Gue Lo Kim from Korea, was a tough match that went the entire five minutes. Vitaly lost by a yuko to Kim and came home with Silver.
