Yvonne's first match was against Germany's Tabae Kuehl. Yvonne attacked throughout the match, but was countered by the taller German. Midway thru the match, with nothing to lose, Yvonne attacked, but was again countered and she lost to Tabea. Tabea won her second match, but lost her third to Sophie Roberge-Canada, and did not carry Yvonne into repechage.
Vitaly's first match was against, Joshua Ramirez-USA. Vitaly lead Josh with 1 yuko and 1 koka, and with 2:02 left, Vitaly scored an ippon with a seonage. In a very exciting second match against Steven Giudice-Australia, Vitaly fell behind with an early penalty, and was not able to catch up. Final score: Guidice 2 yukos 1 koka, and Vitaly 1 yuko 2 kokas. Giudice lost his third match, and was unable to carry Vitaly into repechage.
Christine Carrera represented the Olympic Training Center, in her first match she lost to Brigitte Thibault-Canada. Twenty seconds into her second match against Rochelle Stormont-New Zealand, Christine Ipponed Rochelle with Uchimata. In her third match, she lost to Yazell Harrison-USA. Christine came in 7th.
Alexandra Causey did not compete, this year, but attended the camp after the tournament.
